HOBBIT HOLES.

Here’s to Welsh Hippie Family’s. More inspiration to create a woodland home in Brooklyn. Woooooood!

You are looking at pictures of our family home in Wales. It was built by myself and my father in law with help from passers by and visiting friends. 4 months after starting we were moved in and cosy. I estimate 1000-1500 man hours and £3000 put in to this point.

Hmmm, I wonder how many of these things we’ll actually purchase.

FIRST FURNISHINGS.

March 4, 2008

Brock is picking up these little sitter’s tonight! What a deal! Brock had his eyes on this sort of wooden folders for awhile. An antique store on Court Street sells them for $25 a piece, but 4 for $55—we are sittin’ pretty! King of the Castle.

UPDATE: Sold. Brock’s dilligent eyes and powers of observation concluded that these 4 chairs were wobbly! After much deliberation (in the seller’s living room) Brock hagled the price down to a mere $40! These chairs are beauts, knocked up in the most loving way; really just fine, save for the wobbles which we hope to fix. And the comfort of sitting, oh my!

It’s a bit of a mess. We’re currently too exhausted to do a thing—only enough energy to enjoy some fine wine and fresh baked bread at our local bakery/winery.
